How to get here

To get to the finca, you can either drive to us by car, or let us pick you up at Figueres Vilafant trainstation. This trainstation has good connections with Girona, Barcelona, Perpignan and Paris.

 

Our programs usually start around 18:00 in the evening, and finish around 10:00 in the morning. We provide a pickup at Figueres Vilafant at 17:00h and drop-off at 11:00.

To make sure your timing is aligned with the times of the program and taxi service, please check below information before booking your travels. If you have any hesitations or questions, you can always ask us through jorienhendrikx@gmail.com

By Car

Navigate to Carrer Pla del Vi in Lladó. From there, follow the road that passes de Ermita dels Apostols into the forest. At the Y-fork turn right in the direction of Sola de Bados. Then it's the first road to the right, which is in a sharp curve and has a sign saying Can Cabota. From there you follow the road along the field, across the river and then you'll see the tents.

By Train

We are a 35 minute drive from trainstation Figueres Vilafant, which has direct high-speed connections with Paris, Perpignan, Madrid, Barcelona and Girona.

We can pick you up at Figueres Vilafant (€30,- both ways, we will take as much people as possible at the same time). 

 

By Airplane

a) Arriving at Barcelona Airport

1. First you go from the airport to Barcelona Sants Trainstation (Estació). Depending whether you land on Terminal 1 or 2, the best option might differ. There is a direct train R2 Nord (Rodalies) from T2 to Barcelona Sants. From Terminal 1 the metro/train connection to Barcelona Sants is a bit less convenient.

From both Terminals there is an airport shuffle bus www.aerobusbcn.com that will take you to Placa Espanya for €5,50.

From there it is a stroll or 1 metro stop to Barcelona Sants.

 

2. From Barcelona Sants you take the train to Figueres Vilafant, takes 1 hour, €24,- for a single ticket

At Barcelona Sants you can easily go to a Renfe ticketing machine, where you'll see all options and prices and buy your ticket. However, it is recommended to book the train in advance (e.g. via www.trainline.com or www.renfe.es)

DO NOT TAKE THE LOCAL TRAIN TO FIGUERES

 

3. From Figueres Vilafant we can pick you up (Pick up costs: €30,- both ways)

Estimated traveltime from Barcelona Airport to Figueres Vilafant: 3 hours.

(for booking the train, count about 2 hours between landing at BCN and departure train Barcelona Sants)

 

b) Arriving at Girona/Gerona airport

1. First you go from the airport to Girona Trainstation (Girona Estació). The bus that normally goes is bus number 602.

2. From there you take the train to Figueres Vilafant , takes 15 minutes, €7,40,- for a single ticket

DO NOT TAKE THE LOCAL TRAIN TO FIGUERES

At Girona train station, you can easily go to a Renfe ticket machine, where you can see all options and prices and buy your ticket. However, it is recommended to book the train in advance (e.g. via www.trainline.com or www.renfe.es) You may need to get to the building just behind the main station, which you can reach by walking through or around the main station.

 

3. From Figueres Vilafant we can pick you up (Pick up costs: €30,- both ways)

Estimated traveltime from Girona Airport to Figueres Vilafant: 1,5 hours.

(for booking the train, count about 1:15 hours between landing at Girona and departure train Girona Estació)

Other information

Packing List

- hiking shoes (the terrain is mountainous and after rain muddy)

- earplugs (if you sleep in a shared tent)

- torch/headlamp

- water bottle

- cap, suncreen and/or sunglasses (if the weather is sunny)

- rainclothing (especially in autumn and spring it might rain sometimes)

- layer clothing (so you can put on/take off depending on the weather)

- biodegradable showergel, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant etc. or at least natural/organic

(the water flows directly back to the land and river. If you don't have any of this you can buy it at at our finca)

- swimming gear 

- notebook/sketchbook and pen

- health insurance card
- laptop or tablet (only for food forest course)

 

all clothes and shoes should be okay to get dirty

TIP: check the weather forecast (Lladó) before you come

 

What NOT to bring:

- towels (if you sleep in one of our tents)

- bedding (if you sleep in one of our tents)

- high heels

- electric toothbrush, shavers, hairdryers, hair straighteners etc. (our solar system won't be able to handle these)

Responsibility

- We ask all visitors to be responsible and self-reliant. By staying with us you agree that you can rely on your own (inner) resources.

- Your participation is at own risk. Neither the guides nor the School of Nature can be held responsible for any damage you may experience related to your participation in this program
- By staying with us or by participating in our program, you agree with the above

Cancellation policy 
We ask for a deposit of €200. If you have to cancel your participation, our policy is as follows:

- if you cancel six weeks before the starting date of the program or earlier, we will fully reimburse you

- if you cancel between six weeks and two weeks before the starting date, we will reimburse 50% of the deposit

- if you cancel two weeks before the starting date or later, we will not reimburse the deposit
